Gorgeous!

OK, if you want some ideas, Grand Junction, Montrose, Ridgeway, and Ouray. Basically, from Grand Junction south is beautiful country. The towns are still towns. Grand Junction is probably the biggest city on the western side of the mountains and it's a small city at that. From Montrose, you can see (what locals call) Mount Snuff. You'd have to ask for it to be pointed out, but I can scan some pics I took when visiting family of a boyfriend in Montrose (let me know if you want to see some of them and I will gladly email you). Ouray is reminiscent of Switzerland in architecture. And if you have ever watched a John Wayne western, Ridgeway is where most of those movies were filmed. I think you would enjoy it!
