Merry Christmas

Sunday, December 13, 2015

A little something I just framed.
I was looking for the perfect frame and I did find it...rustic, woody perfect to match
the ABC aux cerfs by Alphabets Toulouse.
40 ct linen...a first for me, red silk 1 over 1....fun to stitch.

The tree is up, the house is decorated inside and outside...but I can not find my Christmas cross stitch decorations. I had little pillows, little frame....cross stitched stuff for the Holidays.
Well  over the summer I rearranged my space downstairs and I put everything away in boxes, well organized...I thought!  I guess everything is in a very safe spot.
The only ones I have are 2 from Jardin Prive. One is called Christmas and the Christmas sock is a SAL I organized with The Thread Basket.
Well, I have an entire year to stitch for next Christmas.

If you like Christmas tree, if you like stitching Christmas tree, you must know Elisa's Christmas tree tradition. Every year she designs a different tree and graciously offers it on her site.
My favorite one....Christmas tree 2008 I stitched in ...2008 :)

This year's tree or trees...are on Elisa's site : Elisa's Christmas tree
Thank you Elisa for your kindness and generosity.
I decided to start knitting since the cold suddenly appeared. A long long scarf with with textured yarn. It is knitted diagonally.  I am not done yet as I want it long long long....
Work in progress :)

I love this advent calendar.
I would do it with more Christmas looking papers. But I love the idea!
The tutorial is here

Simple hung by a rustic cord, my pumpkin banner is done.

I made the "pumpkins 5cts" banner 4 years ago. Here

The month of October went by way too quickly. However I find a little time to finish a project I started in September...well it is not quite finished yet as I still have to sew the back. Hopefully it will be done before Thanksgiving.
This is a pattern I bought a couple of years ago and never took the time to complete...I love the result!. Instead of outlining with a blanket stitch I made several drawstring cords of different thickness to outline the design. It gives a lot of structure and contrast. What do you think?

Babies were born over the last spring and summer joining big brothers and sisters. For the occasion I made baby teeth boxes for the babies and the siblings. Simply use Altoid mini boxes, stitch, use batting and fabric glue and have fun decorating.
This is the result for Avery, Oscar and Cora.

A second batch for Jordan, Kora and Macklyn.

All wrapped up as gifts.
As the temperatures are dropping here in Colorado I am enjoying the last flowers of the garden.
I am wearing a pair of jeans today, for the first time in 6 months...
Good bye summer...

It's October. Happy Fall.
Few things I made to put me in the mood.
I made a while back Christmas letters. I bought papier mache letters and covered them with scrap booking paper...see here
This year I made FALL. Always fun to do.

To decorate a little more I embellished some candle holders with fall ribbons to go with my lace one.
I have crafty fingers right now ;)

Last little project for the season...my decorative rusty light outside has fall colors. Ribbon, flame less candle and tiny fall decoration.
Enjoy the season.

Well, I went to Hobby Lobby for I don't remember what but I found the perfect support for my SAL Rosalie. It is a Metal chalkboard. As soon as I saw it I said..."This is IT"
All I needed was some batting, rick rack and my best friend, fabric glue! I love the result, it is simple, the black brings up all the pinks and greens.
I might just buy more of those chalkboards ;)

SAL Rosalie by Sablaise

Started to stitch again....Sablaise organized a lovely SAL "Rosalie". Done in 4 weeks, this is the result on a 30 ct Garden Slate linen with Atalie and white DMC threads.
I don't know how to finish yet but I sure will show you the final result.
